Welcome to 2025. This calendar year we are guided by the symbols of the Hermit, the Wood Snake, and the esoteric number 9. 2025 is a year of beginnings with the lunar nodes shifting into Pisces and Virgo, multiple outer planets moving into cardinal signs (the initiators of the zodiac) and the first full year of Pluto in Aquarius. The main transits this year distinctly lack earth energy, so take care to remain grounded. Root yourself in fact and choose routines and practices that call in earth energy. Turn to food, animal, and herbal allies for grounding support.
We’ve experienced a concentration of Aries energy since spring 2023. Pluto first entered Aquarius amidst an Aries stellium in March and the North Node entered Aries the following July. 2025 has already been marked by fire in a devastating way. Just as this heated warrior energy continues to build with Saturn and Neptune entering Aries, we will see a wave of water from Jupiter in Cancer and the North Node in Pisces calling for compassion, peace, and love for the collective. Neither energy can be reduced to good or bad, or labeled as right or wrong. Conflict is often necessary for advocacy, just as love can lead people to commit atrocities. Stay close to your values and spirit will lead you to Right Action. Remember that despite our surface-level differences we are all in this together. Astrology is merely the syllabus – humanity is the answer.
North Node in Pisces: Faith and Mystery, See the Living Earth
Today, January 11th (*111*), the lunar nodes shift from Aries and Libra into Pisces and Virgo, leaving the axis of war and peace to steer our collective in lessons of service and sacrifice. The nodes move backwards through the signs, so this move into Pisces represents the beginning of a new 18-year cycle.
The lunar nodes point to our Why, or the spiritual purpose underlying the collective’s choices. Over the next 18 months the North Node in Pisces lends gravitas to spiritual beliefs, the esoteric, oneness, the living universe, and faith beyond understanding. The South Node in Virgo, meanwhile, points to widespread disregard for consistency, refinement, tangible action, and day-to-day reality. Meditate on the difference between transcendence and escapism to meet this energy with good intentions.

Outer Planets in Cardinal Signs: A Cosmic Initiation
When slow moving outer planets change signs. the tides turn and we experience major shifts in arts and culture, global events, technological innovations, and societal belief systems. This year four out of six outer planets are moving into new signs - a changing of the guard that can only point towards celestial revolution.
Neptune and Saturn move into Aries (March 30th and May 24th, respectively), bringing both structure and confusion to themes of conflict, individualism, and the warrior archetype. Jupiter moves into Cancer June 9th, amplifying generosity, deep emotions, and the cosmic mother archetype. Uranus enters Gemini July 7th, innovating our words and thoughts, communication systems, local connections, and nimble movements. Pluto sinks further into Aquarius and grants both power and destructive capacity to the masses.

Focus on homeland security, patriotism, isolationism, and protectionist strategy

The Inner Planet Retrogrades: As Within, So Without
Venus and Mercury both station retrograde in Aries in March – Venus on the 1st at 10 degrees and Mercury on the 15th at 9 degrees. They will review this first decan of Aries two to three times before Saturn and Neptune cover the same ground. This means the events and themes that impact your personal life from January 27th through March 15th will be a microcosm of the larger events that impact the collective over the next several years. The minor foreshadows the major.
The Sacred Geometry of the Fall Equinox
Pay special attention to the equinoxes this year as both take place during eclipse corridors. The Solar eclipse in Virgo September 21st is my highlight of the year – it takes place at the anaretic 29th degree of Virgo only one day before the Fall Equinox. This eclipse joins a rare alignment involving nearly every planet in the zodiac. It opposes a Saturn Neptune conjunction and trines both Uranus and Pluto, which are each further empowered by Mars square Pluto (also at the anaretic 29th degree of Libra) and Venus square Uranus. This is serious portal energy, and I will be talking about this moment at length in future communication. Whatever takes place in the 30 days following this fall equinox will be big.
